February 2018 - Crofton Road Project

Our project was an extensive loft conversion which required the removal of the two existing roofs of our extended 1930s house and their re-modelling and raising. We added a master suite and bathroom upstairs and a further ensuite downstairs.

In selecting a company to work with, it was really important to us to find builders that would be family friendly and that we would be happy to have in our home around our three young children. BWT were excellent in this regard and all the tradespeople used by them were polite and friendly.  Steve always made a point of chatting to the children when he came by and it was small courtesies such as these that underlined Steve’s obvious concern that we were happy throughout the job.

We invited five companies to quote.  We found the quote from BWT had a clear pricing structure, broken down into easy to understand chunks, was comprehensive and supported some flexibility where we unsure whether changes would be required once the work was underway.

When we did make changes, Steve priced these in a transparent and reasonable way and gave us time to consider whether we wished to proceed or consider alternatives.

During the project we had various ideas. Steve and the team were always on hand to provide well informed help and advice to assist our decision making. Throughout the build, Steve kept us informed and explained what was happening, what was coming up and who was doing what when.  Any delays due to weather or delivery problems etc were explained as soon as they arose and the project overall was completed within our expected timescales, including changes we added.

Overall we are delighted with the end result and extremely happy with how the project went.  We would definitely use BWT again - in fact we are in discission now about a follow on project..

August 2017 - Famet Avenue

"We used BWT Construction for our single floor extension, building a downstairs WC, utility room and they also fitted our kitchen. All the builders from the foundation, carpenter through to the plumber were totally professional, helpful and friendly. They always arrived bright and early and got straight to work and were even too busy to have a cup of tea. Paul or Steven were brilliant and popped in once or twice a week to make sure everything were going to plan and were also on hand to advise or help on whatever matter we needed. The quality of work is excellent and I cannot wait to enjoy my new house.  I have and will recommend them to all my friends !!  Thank You!'"

"We used BWT to build a kitchen extension with shower room, install upstairs bathroom, replace all window and doors, guttering, electrics and install external wall insulation.  Both Paul and Steve were on  hand by phone or in person if you had any concerns which was reassuring.  The  workers in each of the professional areas, tilers, plumbers, carpenters, electricians etc provided advice and were a friendly team.  Staff in the office were helpful too and on hand to liaise with other suppliers.  The suppliers for the double glazing, guttering, external insulation/rendering provided a professional service, good quality products and the work was of a high standard.  BWT were accommodating whenever changes arose and if extra work was required it was fairly priced.  Despite some setbacks we are pleased with the overall work.  Thanks to all the team.'

We used BWT Construction for our loft conversion, and we're very happy with them. All during a difficult build they were communicative, always available, and very helpful with any issues we had. The main guys on site were friendly and very efficient, and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. The project came together nicely and all the different trades worked well with each other. We're already thinking of what to get them to do next!

March 2017 - John's Terrace

I took on the challenge of a full renovation project in early 2016 on a small two up two down period property from 1880 in an up and coming area. I decided to add a 4m pitched slate roof kitchen & bathroom extension, knock right through the whole of downstairs, re-wire, re-plumb and fully plaster. During the gutting process I approached three building companies for quotes on the extensive work required, I was happy to be left with works in a fairly raw state ready for carpentry, timber floor restoration & decoration by myself.

From the moment I met with project manager Paul I felt reassured BWT Construction South East Ltd were going to be the right team to work with. For extra reassurance I met with Steven, the MD on one of the sites they were currently working on and it was clear they were very professional and easily able to deliver my vision for the house. I was supplied with a detailed quotation then began the lengthy process of planning permissions, party walls & structural engineering. Due to poorly constructed extensions on either side bespoke foundations had to be designed and calculated using extensive steel beams. BWT Construction South East Ltd re-quoted a fair price and weren’t fazed by this new challenge and worked happily with my structural engineer and his plans.

Generally, I was very impressed by the whole team working in challenging conditions through winter on a very restricted site. Any snagging work I thought could be changed or improved was done when appropriate and communication throughout the whole process was excellent especially considering how busy this company is. I had a clear vision of how I wanted the renovation to look, bringing back the charm of a Victorian property that had been completely lost, and was so pleased the team made it happen. The brickwork and tiling were of an exceptional standard and they were able to install all my challenging non standard period style fixture and fittings.

I have already recommended them to friends and hope to have a loft renovation sometime in the future.

We used BWT Construction for a substantial amount of renovation work on our house, including structural changes, creating a new understairs WC, a full rewire and redecoration. The work was well planned out and completed to a high standard. From the first site visit, they were able to understand what we wanted, how it should be undertaken and how to get the best end result for us.

When we discovered quirks with the house as the work progressed, a couple of things went over budget and some came in under. BWT were great at breaking costs down so we knew what our options were before proceeding. That was crucial for us to prioritise things and manage our budget.

The main reason we chose them over other contractors we spoke to was having Paul and Stephen managing the job, and on-hand to speak to when questions came up (and Vicki in the office to chase things up with other suppliers). All the way through the job, communication was constant, very clear and helpful. We valued that a lot.

The rest of the guys they’ve had working on-site house were very polite and pleasant too. Overall, we’re very impressed with BWT, will use them again and would recommend them to anyone we know (we in fact already have).

February 2017 - Dermody Gardens

We contacted BWT South East Construction after being let down at the last minute by a builder we had been working with on a major house renovation. Our situation was dire as we had moved into the house with no kitchen and two small children. Instead of using our situation to get the most money from us they could, they were very understanding and compassionate.

We discussed the plans for the kitchen renovation which was quite complicated and comprehensive. They gave us a very fair quote and schedule of how long it would take. They started almost immediately and we were introduced to every member of their team who worked on the job. Steve and Paul managed the project between them and we felt we could communicate with them freely at any time. They were in contact with the architect directly and took hold of the project with both hands.

If we had any concerns they took them seriously and listened, they problem solved and when situations unforeseen did arise they dealt with them swiftly and efficiently and were extremely fair on costs etc.

We were so pleased with not only the result of the kitchen but by the team as a whole that we commissioned them to renovate the loft, install a bathroom from scratch and build a purpose build specific professional sound studio in garden for work purposes.

Whilst no building work is ever plain sailing we felt that BWT gave us great value for our budget, were honest, accommodating and very dedicated and hard working. If we take on another house project I will definitely be asking them again and would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone who is thinking of taking on any kind of project.

"This is the first time I have used BWT Construction and am pleased to say that although the job did not always go to plan, together we resolved any issues in an effort to come in on time and almost on budget which resulted in a happy client. All the trades at BWT were lovely to work with and nothing was a problem. I will certainly consider them for the next job.

August 2016 - Church Road Project

99 Church Street, was a scheme where Westminster City Council needed a central hub office for their local residents. The hub was to provide residents with on-going information regarding the on-going regeneration project to the local area.

A disused formal bike repair shop was choose as the new location for the requested offices. BWT electrical/ Builders were given the task to carry out the requested refurbishment.

An agreed programme of seven week was given to carry out the works.

Works were completed ahead of schedule by BWT and to a high standard. Please see below comments from our client regarding their performance on this project.

"BWT site foreman Neil and his team were very professional throughout the project. They kept health and safety to a very high standard and worked hard to ensure that the project was completed not only ahead of time but to a very high standard.

August 2016 - Cronin Street Project

"BWT South East London Construction did a flat renovation for us on 4 bed ex-council flat in Peckham. This included knocking down non-structural walls, completely refitting 2 bathrooms, fitting a kitchen, replacing doors and woodwork throughout.

We found them to be a really slick, experienced, professional operation that got the job done efficiently, to a great standard, with great communication and without any hassle. We constantly checked in on progress and if we wanted something done a bit differently they were happy to adapt their approach to make sure we got what we wanted. They quoted for a really reasonable price and did all the work for the quoted price.

I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to get some work done by a professional and personable company at a reasonable price."
